1. Given Conditions
1) Production Environment
  • Plant Type: Electric Motorcycle Mass Production & Assembly Plant.
  • Process Stage: Last process of the assembly line (EOL: End-of-Line), Quality Inspection & Performance Testing.
  • Quantity: 1 unit per line, for a total of 4 production lines (4 units in total).
  • Tact Time: 174 seconds.
  • Daily Production Volume: 333 units / Line (Based on 2-shift operation).

2. Inspection & Test Items
1) Power Input & Electronic Component Operation Check
  1. Electrical Components: Verify the operation of the instrument cluster (dashboard), USB charging socket, electric seat lock, switch units, throttle unit (accelerator), smart key unit, controller, and motor. Input "PASS" manually if the criteria are met.
  2. Lighting Systems: Verify the operation and illumination of the high beam, low beam, DRL (Daytime Running Light), position lights (front/rear), turn signals (front L/R, rear L/R), brake light, license plate light, and seat box light. Input "PASS" manually if the criteria are met.
2) Manual Testing with Manual Data Entry
  1. Ground Bond Test: Measure and manually input "PASS" if the criteria are met.
  2. Withstanding Voltage (Hi-Pot) Test: (Pre-measured and passed in the sub-assembly/component production process). Manually input "PASS".
  3. Insulation Resistance Test: (Pre-measured and passed in the sub-assembly/component production process). Manually input "PASS".
  4. Auto Light Control Test: Measure and manually input "PASS" if the criteria are met.
  5. Side Stand Switch Test: Measure and manually input "PASS" if the criteria are met.
3) Manual Testing with Automated Data Entry
  1. High Beam Intensity & Aiming Test: Measure, and the system automatically inputs "PASS" if the criteria are met.
  2. Low Beam Intensity & Aiming Test: Measure, and the system automatically inputs "PASS" if the criteria are met.
  3. Horn Sound Pressure Level (SPL) Test: Measure, and the system automatically inputs "PASS" if the criteria are met.
  4. Reverse Gear Test: Measure, and the system automatically inputs "PASS" if the criteria are met.
  5. Rear Wheel Braking Force Test: Measure, and the system automatically inputs "PASS" if the criteria are met.
  6. Speedometer Accuracy Test: Measure, and the system automatically inputs "PASS" if the criteria are met.
  7. High-Speed Cruise/Top Speed Test: Measure, and the system automatically inputs "PASS" if the criteria are met.
3. Required Equipment & Supply Scope
  1. Chassis Dynamometer: Vendor to propose and finalize in consultation with the Buyer.

    Coverage: Reverse test, Speedometer accuracy test, Rear braking force test, High-speed cruise test (4 items)

  2. Dummy Battery Simulator: Buyer to provide the specific brand and technical specifications.
  3. Ground Bond Tester: Buyer to provide the specific brand and technical specifications.
  4. Hi-Pot & Insulation Resistance Tester: Buyer to provide the specific brand and technical specifications.
  5. Headlight Tester: Buyer to provide the specific brand and technical specifications.
  6. Horn Sound Pressure Tester: Buyer to provide the specific brand and technical specifications.
  7. Control PC: Industrial-grade Control PC. Vendor to propose and finalize the brand/specifications in consultation with the Buyer.
  8. Laser Printer: Industrial-grade Laser Printer. Vendor to propose and finalize the brand/specifications in consultation with the Buyer.
  9. Main Control Cabinet: Vendor to propose and finalize in consultation with the Buyer.
  10. VIN Scanner: Buyer to provide the specific brand and technical specifications.
4. Operation Sequence (Work Instructions)
  1. Position and secure the vehicle on top of the chassis dynamometer.
  2. Scan and verify the vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Once the VIN is recognized via the scanner, the Control PC must query the MES server to fetch and download the target model's "Master Specification Data" (e.g., top speed, voltage, headlight intensity threshold) and automatically configure the Pass/Fail criteria for that specific vehicle model.
  3. Perform the Ground Bond Test and input "PASS". Retrieve and input the pre-existing "PASS" results for the Hi-Pot and Insulation Resistance tests.
  4. Connect the Dummy Battery Simulator to the vehicle.
  5. Verify the operation of electrical components and input "PASS".
  6. Verify the operation of lighting systems and switches and input "PASS".
  7. Perform the Auto Light Control Test and input "PASS".
  8. Perform the Side Stand Switch Test and input "PASS".
  9. Test High Beam Intensity & Aiming; "PASS" is automatically entered upon meeting criteria.
  10. Test Low Beam Intensity & Aiming; "PASS" is automatically entered upon meeting criteria.
  11. Test Horn Sound Pressure Level; "PASS" is automatically entered upon meeting criteria.
  12. Perform Reverse Gear Test; "PASS" is automatically entered upon meeting criteria.
  13. Perform Speedometer Accuracy Test; "PASS" is automatically entered upon meeting criteria.
  14. Perform High-Speed Cruise Test; "PASS" is automatically entered upon meeting criteria.
  15. Automatically print out the Final Test Result Report.
5. Test Data Collection & MES Transmission
1) Manual Data Entry via HMI Screen
  • Applies to Inspection & Test Items ① to ⑦.
2) Automated Data Entry from Testing Devices
  • Applies to Inspection & Test Items ⑧ to ⑭.
  • Human Error Prevention: To prevent accidental data entry by operators, the manual inspection screen shall only display and activate the "PASS" button.
  • NG Handling: If a specific test item fails the criteria or if the operator selects the "Rework Transfer" button, the system shall automatically determine the status as "NG" (No-Go) and transfer the corresponding test results along with the Defect Code (NG Code) to the MES server.
3) Communication Protocol Specifications
  • Device-to-PC Communication: The interface between each individual testing device (Headlight tester, SPL tester, etc.) and the Industrial Control PC shall utilize RS-232C Serial or internal Ethernet communication.
  • PC-to-MES Communication: The interface between the Control PC and the upper-level MES server shall utilize a dedicated Ethernet (TCP/IP) connection via the plant’s internal LAN infrastructure.
4) Data Interfacing & Master Specification Download
  • Interface Standard: The system must comply with the MES interface protocol specification (REST API method) provided by the Buyer. When the operator scans the VIN, the Control PC must automatically query and download the target model's Master Specifications (Top speed, voltage, headlight threshold, etc.) from the MES server.
  • Real-Time Transmission: Upon completion of the testing cycle, the individual test parameters (Pass/NG status and actual measured raw values for items ① to ⑭) mapped to the scanned VIN must be transmitted to the MES in real time. If any item fails, the corresponding NG Code must be appended to the transmission.
  • Test Cycle Abort Logic: If an NG occurs during critical safety tests (e.g., Ground Bond) or powertrain testing, the HMI sequence must allow the system to immediately abort the test cycle, transmit the data collected up to that point along with the Abort Flag (NG Code) to the MES, and release the vehicle for evacuation to the rework area.
